At Bethel are there any women managers at all?

to those who would know i would like to ask if there are departments at bethel where a woman is the manager.. what about the kitchen?

can a woman be a manager, or overseer, or whatever there?.

cleaning department, what about this one most of that work is given to the women?.

We can thank the enlightened Apostle Paul for this Watchtower silliness. No teaching in the congregation. Head coverings. WTF? He must have crapped his heavenly white robe when Margaret Thatcher became British Prime Minister. Oprah and Hillary must be driving him mad.

If rank and file JWs do not get to enjoy the all of the blessings of the New Covenant as recorded in the New Testament, why should they be subject to all of the requirements? Why should they have to follow the same proclamations that "annointed" Christians were given if they are a seperate sub-group, with lesser ranking before God?

Within Watchtower culture, the only things that women are allowed to manage are households and how they arrange their book bags. They aren't even allowed to handle the sound system, magazine counter, or the microphones for that matter. Yet, ironically, they are required to meet the same demands as men: turn in time slips, etc.

Right before I left the borg, I brought up to an elder the idiocy of women not being allowed to serve in various capacities within the congregation. Do you know what he said? He said that if women served as elders, that they would not have the capacity to discipline the friends properly and that nothing would get done.

well me and bonnzo got to go to a big jw funeral today (oh what fun!

)...in a high school auditorium...so i see bonnzo in the crowd and texted him during the service that i could see him, and i was so hoping he had not put his cell on vibrate, but he had....darn it.

so my mind was wandering, and i have been wondering what it would take for me to get any of my faith back (i'm agnostic now)...and this scripture pops in my head: .

when the bible claims there is only one mediator between god and man, jesus christ....isn't this considered hypocritical of their teachings?.

They continuously pray for the Governing Body, that's why. And considering the fishtailing course of the organization for the last century, these guys can use all of the prayer they can get.

This seems like a tall order when considering what kind of carbon footprint the temple must have left, with all of it's burning sacrifices. Maybe they added a verse where Hezekiah buys carbon credits.

And what do they do about the book of Daniel? Cutting down that large tree, and puting a band around it? How un-green!

Ah, but you see A@G; you and I are obviously too small to understand the lofty things of God. Yahweh always acted justly. Those individuals were deserving of theocratic discipline. Besides, we all know that infanticide is detestable to God, unless it was a Babylonian or Canaanite baby. It that case, smiting the young with the sword was merely God's judgement. They'll be resurected. See how it all works out?

I guess that we do not have God's holy spirit to see Yahweh's mercy and tender loving kindness. Those Muslims who flew planes into the World Trade Center were obviously terrorists. But the Israellite men who slaughtered unarmed women, children, and the elderly were just doing what God told them to do. See? It's all very simple.

This is hilarious. I thought that this entire global preaching work was inherently outstanding. Now, they are only going to cherry-pick the more flattering statistics to print. It never ceases to amaze me to see the new gimmics of spin-doctoring that they come up with.

We are going to begin to see reports that read like this: "Yes friends, Jehovah is speeding up the work in His own time. We are happy to report that the island nation of Mauzakebubu had a 23% increase this last service year. Do we not see the hand of Christ Jesus directing this work?"

Get ready to see a lot of reports from countries like Uganda, Paraguay, and Maldives. Japan, Western Europe, Australia, and the U.S. will be relegated to the foot notes in back.

I Thought I Saw Jesus Cano Today

However, you can imagine my chagrin when I walked into a donut shop today and swore that I spotted Jesus Canobehind the counter. Many of you remember the highly publicized case of Jesus Cano; the Bethel Elder / aspiring film maker / boy enthusiast who was arrested about two years ago.

The creepy mugshot of the Latin Gilligan-looking Cano was something that I thought I had exorcised out of my mind until I was reminded of it again today. The man behind the counter could have been Cano’s twin brother.

I spotted the security camera in the corner of the shop, and could not help thinking about those news images of Cano fiddling with his camera in his Bethel room. The man seemed just a bit too friendly too; which only added to my heebie-jeebies. Even the donut chain’s name ( Yum Yum Donuts ) added to the the ickiness of the situation. I’m glad I didn’t ask him if their buns were fresh.

I couldn’t wait to pay and get out of there. I would however like to acknowledge Yum Yum Donuts for giving me a free stroll down morbidity memory lane with my purchase. Gee, thanks.

I’m sorry if this thread seems a little ill-natured, but have any you had anything weird like this happen since leaving the borg?

If they were more transparent about their history of false predictions, how they arrived at their blood policies, and how the Governing Body votes on it's doctrines, then I would say that far fewer people would join. Organizations that use bait and switch recruiting usually find that such techniques are a necessity for their growth.

and damm i love to shop...even on black friday.

i have a feeling it is just because i have never done it and it was forbidden...but so was sex once and i jumped all over that one!

i have ALWAYS loved christmas songs...and i used to work in a mall as a teen and heard the non-stop for two months....how can anybody watch HOME ALONE and not start singing christmas tunes for days....oh that Brenda Lee with"rockin around the christmas tree"

Those are the very songs I'm talking about. Having to listen to those songs while I'm trying to shop makes me want to set fire to the produce section.

I think that our CIA interrogators are going about it all wrong. Forget all of their "enhanced interrogation techniques" that they learned at Langley. Just plop in Elton John or Mariah Carrey's Christmas album, and they'll have those Al Qaida operatives talking in no time flat.
